Hello there !!!
I’m Herbert Catania and I hail from the lovely island of Malta, which is located in the centre of the Mediterranean Sea. I am in my forties and have a soft spot for nature, landscape, architecture and b&w photography.
As the dictum goes, my photography says a lot about the way I see things, not to mention the dire passion of being behind a camera of course!
A Banker by profession, I’ve been into photography ever since I was a kid thanks to my Dad (Francis X) and my two elder brothers; Joe (epz user name: KingArthur) & Edwin (epz user name: edcat). As a teenager, I took loads of film and slides with my then Olympus OM10 & OM4Ti SLRs, which I still dearly possess. The exigencies of work, other interests (My other hobby is Amateur Radio – callsign 9H1BD) and commitments had gradually pushed my hobby into a deep hibernation for quite a few years.
Quite fortunately, the flame had rekindled in March 2006; thanks to my brothers. I am now happily back into the world of digital photography.
Hardware: 18/55mm DX, 18/70mm DX, 18/200mm DX VR, 70/300mm G and a 50mm (F/1.4); together with the Sigma 10/20mm EX.
Fuji E900, Nikon D70s, Nikon D80 and a Nikon D200. The Nikonean machines are complemented by the following Nikkor Lenses:
Software:-
I mainly use photoshop CS2 & Ninja 2 for my digi ‘darkroom’ work.
Please take some time to go through some of my photos here, I appreciate all comments thrown my way as these will surely help me improve on my photography.
I am very impressed by the high quality/technique photography on this site and thus feel quite proud of having joined. I am confident that the interaction on this site should be beneficial to my never-ending learning curve.
I look forward to viewing your work and possibly getting to know you in the near future.
Kind regards,
Herbert
