The broken pieces of his life by

This gentleman emptied a bag containing an old alarm clock, old shoes and a toaster and bits and pieces of outdated and broken electronic equipment, hardly saleable and not worth more than a couple of euro, he proceeeded to sit on the pavement and drink beer, awaiting a sale that probably would not happen.
Corbera, Spain. Sunday Market. This is an enormous out door market, selling everything from junk to artisan foods. A huge number of immigrants have stalls here and react very badly to cameras. Most of them are illegal and afraid. With unemployment over 20% in Spain, there are no jobs. They try and keep themselves below the radar and struggle on hoping for better times.
Capture taken waist high, any thing thats looks like an attempt to take a photo here could spark violence.
Fujifilm Finepix HS10

so sad berns..reminds me of what i saw in the underground stations in moscow – children selling dirty toothbrushes to passersby inside these opulent interiors – quite the contrast

  • Its so heartbreaking Simone!
