October 13th, 2009 and Singer / Band Member / X-Factor Judge / Footballer’s Wife / Part-time Mountaineer / Celebrity Cheryl Cole leaves BBC Radio1 to what can only be described as a circus-style crush.
Photographers, Gawkers, Fans, Passersby, Security, Entourage, People leaning on cars (one Paparazzi brought a step ladder, one photographed from a Vespa), Opportunistic marketing people from a nearby media company’s TV channel, a bemused parking attendant (who had slapped a fine on Cheryl’s driver’s car earlier) – even the people from the building she was walking out of – all there to take a look at a pretty lady wearing a rather large hat and big sunglasses.
Ordinarily I’d want to be down there – but I have to say this vantagepoint was pretty cool. (Even if it required a fair bit of editing to minimise the amount of glare and errant reflections off the glass window I was shooting through)
It’s the kind of shot that doesn’t make the newspapers (in fact the one that did make the afternoon Metro was rather surprisingly empty of the massive crowd, and I’m not really sure how the photographer managed that!)
It kind of needs to be seen BIG to be appreciated, but I thought I’d share it nonetheless!
