The Snow Tree by

More art than photo, really… took this in a near-whiteout at Perisher, and extracted the main tree by massively increasing contrast and levels. Hence the slight fuzziness, hence the large drop-off in detail behind the tree, and hence (I think) the rather pleasing effect!

About berndt2

Bernd Talasch doesn’t remember being hatched in a research laboratory in Omaha in the late 1950s so maybe that never happened. (Placeholder bio – remember to replace).

Great shot. The fuzziness works quite well with this shot I think. :)

Love this! I like the way the tree stands out so well, accentuates the loneliness of it! Well done!

In a word, ‘Fantastic,’ with a capital F. Great work.

Wow really interesting idea!! It’s like the scenery in one poem that I wrote in finnish . In the end of this poem a man meets a snow-leopard by the tree like in your picture and asks the leopard “why are you mottled like the brightest starry night – I’m made of snow but the soot covers my faith” :-)
