Ladies and Gentlemen, I’ve crossed pedestrian crossings from New York to Sydney, Paris to Hong Kong and Tokyo to Paris. I’m also an adult – I’ll cross wherever I please – red light be damned.

Because let’s face it : it’s a case of looking at the approaching traffic on your side of the road, then the other side, and then the first side again. And taking some responsibility.

There is, however, one set of pedestrian lights in the world where I pay attention. And I stop when it says stop. Not because it’s a blind turn or the drivers are particularly poor, or aggressive, or blind.

No… it’s because the Red Light Man they use has a cetain menace.. an undeniable charisma. Even if you can’t see him quite in the same enhanced way as featured in this T, you still know when he’s on duty that you don’t mess with that light. Because he’d probably take it personally…

You don’t mess with The Man.
