"An Education" Premiere Photos (Thompson! Mulligan! Cooper!)

On the ‘I may be getting seriously obsessed with these things’ front, I present the fourth premiere in four working days! And on the ‘I may not be entirely beyond hope’ front, I’ll admit that the day after this one, the needs of the laundry outweighed the possibility of a fifth premiere or gala screening in five working days…

This film had several things going for it – I was there, the female cast-members outnumbered the male and it got me out of work a whole ten (10) minutes early!

“An Education”. I’ll be honest and say I have no idea what it’s about. And I went to university…

The New Jedi Order. It’s not just for seriously overweight and underweight guys anymore… (this is Antonia Campbell-Hughes, who was also at yesterday’s Bright Star premiere)

Paparazzi flashes are a tricky prospect for any camera to fight against – especially when shooting into them. For now, I’ve settled on fast shutter speeds and a bit of fervent hoping.

Sometimes you just don’t have a direct view of what’s going on on the red carpet, no matter how long you’ve been waiting. Time to get creative, then…

She’s pretty. What’s more, when wireimage identified her as ‘Beth Rowley’, the name sounded very familiar. And indeed, I’d photographed her at V-Festival last year. Oddly, there she looked young enough, but here she looks about three or four years younger and it’s one year on!

If you’re a pretty lady at a premiere, I’ll generally feel inclined to not just check up on wireimage, but even wikipedia and try to identify you (just… because). But in this case… eh. Feel free to play at home! I’m going to say… Dizzee Rascal.

I’m not sure who she is, but I’ll pay the expression! Yellow Cap Guy update – he wasn’t present at this one as far as I could tell. It was a cold evening and it threatened to rain, but surely it would take more than that to keep him away?

Actress Emma Thompson has had three Academy Award™ nominations – and a win (Best Actress, Howard’s End, 1992), AND she plays the giddy Professor Trelawney in the Harry Potter films. So she’s doing okay!

Actually, I think she’s doing better than okay 8)

Dominic Cooper. As in… that guy. He’s clean-shaven on the poster (if that’s him on the poster).... and that’s pretty much all I know.

You’re young, beautiful, have a role in no less than three wide-release films in 2009 and have several lined up next year, and now you’re on a red carpet at a London Film Premiere during BFI Film Festival for a film where people are calling your performance Oscar-worthy. So to summarise, right now you’re feeling fairly…. down? (I’ll be honest… I don’t really understand girls…)

“There, there… rottentomatoes.com might only give it an aggregated 90% positive critics review, but that doesn’t mean the movie is all bad” Actress Carey Mulligan gets consoled (?) on the red carpet.

The dynamic trio posed in front of the wall o’paps for a fair while. And despite a staggering failure rate of shots taken while competing with Paparazzi flashes going off, I had several shots that turned out okay. This one, however, was the most interesting!

So… that’s another premiere, then. I still take ONE PHOTO PER DAY, mind you (meaning : more than one, generally – but I will then select one, and not always from film premieres). I should probably get round to posting the latest bunch at some point…

But… until next time!
