I think what I like about this shot is that the out-of-focus background is more important and emphasised by the foreground detail. (I’d like to say it was deliberate….!)

film indeed. earlier this year I happened to be back in Venice and took a similar shot again : the new shot was on a better lens and arguably had better composition… but there’s something in the way the film handled this shot that makes me prefer this one! Thanks for all your comments!
