A worker bee has her legs heavily coated with pollen as she works a sea of yellow flowers at Harry P. Leu Gardens. I am fairly certain this is not the domesticated honey bee (Apis mellifera) that everyone is familiar with; I believe that it may be a different domesticated bee, Apis mellifera carnica Pollman. if any of you bee/wasp lovers out there know for sure, please chime in.
