MOOOOOVE it!
In 1985, after gaining my commercial helicopter pilot licence, I worked as a stock mustering pilot in aeroplanes in order to get experience that would one day let me do the same in helicopters. (However, I hardly ever flew choppers, my employers preferred me to stick to planes.) Sometimes when I finished mustering cattle by plane, I’d join the helicopter pilot to chase the final stragglers into the stockyard. This gave me the perfect chance to set up this shot with the shadow of the Hughes 300. Shot at Brunette Downs in the Northern Territory.
Check out my web site www.twistedirony.com, where I’ve got some more aviation pictures, including a sequence of landing up the side of a mountain in New Guinea!!

Hey … mister pilot man … gee … are you a hell of a pilot and a hell of a photographer! Great ,this shadow of the big bug.

Hi FlyBoy, thanks, but I was in the right hand seat, taking the photo and bullying (no pun intended!) the pilot into position … which reminds me, this shot might well be through the open door, because of the angle and the lack of bug-greasy windscreen.

stunning image – the helicopter looks unstable because of the angle the photo is take on – it’s a great composition, with the two cows leading your eye through the image

That’s the beauty of helicopters, Vedran, you can manouevre them in 362 degrees: as well as 360 degrees, you also have up and down degrees. You can go sideways like this all day …. no, make that until you have to refuel, haha!

Yeah, in this case, it’s the real thing, shot in 1985, and no Photoshopping here!
