Profile
Before stumbling across Photoshop, I spent most of my working life as a pilot. No, not the big jets – I preferred low level flying, such as rounding up cattle in the Australian Outback with planes, with a mind to use my fresh commercial helicopter pilot licence for same. Instead, I ended up flying for an airline in Papua New Guinea, where airstrips are carved out of the sides of mountains and wrapped in enough cloud to make landings and take-offs interesting.
Life after flying exposed me to computers (and Photoshop). Now I’m learning how to paint and draw, as well as improving my photography and using programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Painter, ZBrush, Poser, Apophysis, Photomatrix and various plug-ins. As a perpetually autodidactic rookie, luckily, I’m misguided by neurons synapsing off left, right and centre. Is ambidexterity legal yet? I hope not. I’m just eternally grateful that my passion for flying translated to a passion for creating things.
