Before discovering an interest in Photoshop, I spent most of my working life as a pilot. No, not the big jets – I preferred low level flying, such as rounding up cattle in the Australian Outback with planes, acquiring a not-much-used helicopter licence, teaching people how to fly ultralights and also flying for an airline in Papua New Guinea, where the airstrips are carved out of the sides of mountains.

Life after flying exposed me to computers (and Photoshop). Now I spend my time as an amateur digital artist, photographer, metal sculptor and writer. I’m also finally trying to learn how to draw and paint, as well as learning how to use Photoshop, Illustrator, Painter, ZBrush and Poser.

Of course, I’ll never master any or all of these, given that I also like to spend my spare time surfing and playing guitar … but it’s not the destination that counts, it’s how you fly there!
