The Pass at Byron Bay in NSW, Australia. Part of my ‘surf’ series, which are mostly photographed using the same technique. Pentax K5, DA* 50-135 f2.8 lens at 65mm, f7.1
I should probably mention that my technique for this series involves setting up the camera on a tripod and taking two exposures – a short one of around 1/200 and then screwing on a ten stop ND filter while the camera is still on the tripod with exactly the same framing and taking a looong exposure of about 15 seconds, and then combining the two exposures in photoshop. Other than that there is no manipulation.
You have a wonderful imagination, Ben… and clearly, the skill to bring it to life. This is sensational. Bravo!!!
Thanks Mieke. I hear from Mel that your exhibition is magnificent. Congratulations.
