I see the world differently
Differently from you
My world is filtered through a shade of brown
While yours is seen through blue
It made perfect sense, in the perfect tense
Where logic needs no proof
Although we were younger, do you ever wonder
If such thoughts hold any truth
What was it that you told me
So many years ago
The world was so much larger then
There was so much left to know
We filled the gaps, with hand-drawn maps
As the truth got ever nearer
We strode alone, through the unknown
And we saw things so much clearer
You asked if I’d ever imagined seeing
Myself, through another’s eyes
I sat all night by a mirror
Intrigued by what I’d find
What really stings, is that the little things
That made sense at the age of ten
Began to fade as I began to age
We were much more wise back then
You taught me which trees to climb in
And the places best to hide
Such things were truly vital
No other rules applied
We played all day in the month of May
When the sun shone oh so bright
As the years went on I thought I was wrong
But I’ve never been more right

Your rhyme & rhythm is traditional

Now I’m blushing! hehe, it was written after a really inspiring conversation I had a few days ago. I’m really really glad you enjoyed it!

aw thank you :) things really are simpler when you’re a child…and simplicity is often the best way to make sense of things..

I like this…has an easy, natural flow…touches things we already know but rarely discover in our well of experience.
