the story rolls on....
morning rant blah blah blah etc etcetera!
so im actually beginning to paint. wet in wet with enamels/oil based house paints, blending beautiful colors, its fucking rad, a whole new thing has opened up and the skill set is allowing it to work, colorful, complex, subtle sliding marks, thick.
Still informed by the layered, structural, addative/deleting type process it adds another string to the box, another tool/device to play with and organise/re-organise, another step to take. Its very exciting.
Ive never really painted before but now its starting to come naturally without having to push it and i guess its justy come about through percevering with the practice and starting to pay attention to color theory.
Primitie totems, spiritual assemblie.
A GREAT BOOK ON NAVAJO SAND PAINTINGS.
Inverting colors, playing with simple yet beautiful palettes, color relationships, the psychology of color and then the image.
Art without expectation or pretense, raw, real, home. Honest beauty.
Translucent, thin washing… miriads of microcosmic spaces within spaces that make the big whole, whole.
Thinking of wanting to escape the idea and headspace of displaying art but the need to show to make funds to continue the story is a paradox of feeling, the loving of art and making art and the survival of the journey through staying self sufficient.
thus the story rolls on
