p.s. one of my longest renders so far. including pauses during the night, it took almost 4 days to render it.
Cool idea to place a curtain of glas before the object – well done!
thank you so much, eric! in wahrheit ist es eine gläserne säule (column of glass, in fact), aber stimmt: den eindruck eines vorhangs wollte ich erreichen! :o)
haha!oh yeah, I am acquainted with those looooong renderings!!!…I remember using Filter Forge in the early days of making digital art, and was so used to the faster render with Photoshop filters, that I didn’t realize just how a larger render would take much more time to complete. It took hours! Of course, my computer back then was basic p4, and perhaps 250 – 500mb of ram, but still was able to make excellent pieces in photoshop and Photo Filter Studio. I eventually gave up using Filter Forge, but promise to try again when I have a computer with at least 12mb ram and lightening fast processor!!!
sorry, 12Gb RAM
from 500mb to 12 mb – now that’s what i call a progression. lol ;o)))but 12 gb ram doesn’t sound that unrealistic, does it? i have to admit i am a complete layman concerning computer technology – so i don’t even remember the exact gb ram of my own laptop. but since my laptop is working almost 24/7 on my pictures, it may not be that bad..thanks for the indirect hint concerning filter forge – hadn’t heard of it til now. but i’ll definitely give it a try!
