Duck and Cover was a propaganda film produced in 1951 by the US government’s civil defense branch shortly after the Soviet Union began nuclear testing. Duck and Cover, which runs for around 10 minutes, began screening in classrooms across America in 1952. Burt the turtle turtle taught children to, upon nuclear attack, duck and cover under their desk, thus avoiding injury from the explosion. You can find a copy of the film here. This t-shirt has been designed to celebrate 60 years of fear mongering and misinformation.
