Joe Belmont was born and raised in California but after a career in military aviation settled in Panama City Florida where he turned to art full time. Joe, along with his sister Noemi who is an accomplished bronze sculptor that specializes in the lost-wax casting method, come from a long line of artists and musicians. Joe’s artistic education began early on with his family and continued through college, the military and now in his art studio. He finds great inspiration from the beautiful Emerald Coast of Florida, where he mostly paints on location. His paintings are strongly influenced by a number of distinguished masters that include: James Abbott McNeill Whistler, Diego Velázquez, Winslow Homer, and Edward Hopper.
