Born in Stockport Sept 1952 I started off drawing portraits of Celebrities in pastels ln my teens while I attended Stockport College I have never been able to work as a full time Artist this last 7 yrs I have dedicated much more time to my work currently specialising on wildlife paintings & seascapes ln oils. I have been teaching adult art classes at my local Community Centre close to my home in Manchester, I was first inspired to paint the sea by the Artist E.John Robinson he taught a basic principle I use on all my paintings no matter what subject to get the canvas covered with colour of the object you paint before you paint detail. So I always say you can’t paint detail on nothing my favorite type of painting now is wildlife I really enjoy seeing the build up of the picture as each layer of fur is painted building up the realism however in the past year I have started to use a technique using an airbrush with a water based acrylic I paint all my background very vivid to make the feature of my painting really jump out of the canvas I use the airbrush on my background because it gives a very soft blended vivid effect but I use the same acrylic medium to paint fur then I airbrush a glaze over the whole of the fur then hand paint, the fur is all hand painted this is repeated upto 6 times until you feel as though you want to stroke the fur.I WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU FOR TAKING TIME TO LOOK AT MY PAINTINGS WHICH I HOPE YOU DO WITH MUCH PLEASURE THANKS AND ENJOY Stan Brookfield
