This weekend just gone we said a very teary farewell to my Dad and my Other Mum who have sold up their house here in Tassie to embark on the next phase of their life’s adventure – travelling around Australia.
We are humoungously happy for them, it is a dream they have held for a very long time. At the same time though, we can’t help but feel a little selfishly sad for ourselves being as they won’t be just down the road anymore :(
This shot of the Spirit of Tasmania ferry on the Mersey River getting ready to depart captures the bittersweet nostalgic feelings of the day.
They’ll be back one day Rhana……you can take the boy out of tassy, but you can’t get tassy out of the boy……nuff said! Lovely work, humoungously good!!
You know, I’m not sure of that at all David… I have no doubt they will come back for a holiday but to live? Maybe not. That’s all right though, I’m here forever so there will always be family representation in Tassie :)

Oh Bellababe,
you’ve really captured the moment,
as you say nostalgia and journey
I adore those two gulls…and what they too represent.

Thanks darlin, I can feel your hug from here :) xxx

Feels like an eternity of time passing. What a great shot, Rhana!
I understand that bittersweetness. Hooray for grand adventures!! Just wishing I could give you a snug and help a bit with the heartache part of it.
