I live in the backwoods of Tasmania, with a husband who works a dirty job, and two growing boys whose favourite pastime is building forts down the creek. We are also on tank water. So what all this means is that instead of having some fancy pants, water guzzling, chuck-your-clothes-in-push-a-button-and-walk-away washing machine I have my environmentally friendly, water saving, tough on stains twin tub.
I detest it.
I can’t wait for the kids to be grown and out of the house for the sole reason that this means I will be able to get myself a fancy pants washer.
Every Saturday you will find me slaving over the ravenous beast, feeding it clothes and getting frostbite on my fingers from our bitterly cold tank water.
Except today I don’t detest it quite so much.
You see, I’m heading off to Melbourne tomorrow to spend some time with the rest of the Redbubble crew planning all sorts of wonderful things for the future of our RB community, and so decided to do a mid week wash just so my three boys would be certain not to run out of clothes while I’m away.
I’m also in the middle of packing, so of course my camera is on the bench rockin it out ready to go.
So I am standing over the washer, waiting for the spinner to wind down, trying to remember if I have packed my elmo pj’s and nightcap when I see this gorgeous kaleidoscope of colour whizzing around…
And this is the result :) Straight from the camera!
