That’s lovely Rhana, beautifully composed and great detail. I have columbines growing in my garden too. They really are an extraordinary looking flower.
Thankyou treasure :) I’m looking forward to seeing what you have been up to while I have been absent xx
Finally after many months of almost telepathic similarities we find somewhere to differ. I prefer Colombine, but then i’m a sucker for strong single words. It almost adds an element of ulterior motive sounding like a South American flower whose seeds can be used to ascend the mind on a place to wohat could only be phrased as “A voyage to trip out city”.
But, I like the shot (and here we find common ground again) and the softest of its surroundings which provided the perfect backdrop to good old Colombine, so strong in name and nature! :)
Beautiful Rhana, you have such a great eye for composition and exposure.

Beautiful image, Rhana, great DoF, lovely soft colours. This flower has yet a third (scientific) name – Aquilegia. Columbine and Granny’s Bonnet are the most commonly used, though.
Rhana, this is stunning! I don’t care what you call it, Colombine, Granny’s Bonnet or Grandad’s Bottom… whatever, it would remain equally as stunning! I love the colours and DoF in this… a very soft image, yet stands alone with lots of strength.
