I received a timely reminder today from a very dear friend to “come out and play” so here I am =)

I worked on the colour version of this for so long that I completely lost any objectivity I may have once had, even after walking away from it for days and coming back to it. I love the black and white, but the colour version has a totally different feel, a really intense feel… I can’t really explain it. I may upload that one too, just to get some feedback on the both of them side by side.

Hello my friend, we meet again
It’s been awhile, where should we begin?
Feels like forever
Within my heart are memories
Of perfect love that you gave to me
Oh, I remember

When you are with me, I’m free
I’m careless, I believe
Above all the others we’ll fly
This brings tears to my eyes
My sacrifice

We’ve seen our share of ups and downs
Oh how quickly life can turn around
In an instant
It feels so good to reunite
Within yourself and within your mind
Let’s find peace there

When you are with me, I’m free
I’m careless, I believe
Above all the others we’ll fly
This brings tears to my eyes
My sacrifice

I just want to say hello again
I just want to say hello again

When you are with me I’m free
I’m careless, I believe
Above all the others we’ll fly
This brings tears to my eyes
Cause when you are with me I am free
I’m careless, I believe
Above all the others we’ll fly
This brings tears to my eyes
My sacrifice, My sacrifice

I just want to say hello again
I just want to say hello again

My sacrifice.

Dead trees, one of my favourite subjects. Specially against such a dark sky. ;^)
    Great B&W work Rhana.

My turn to sit and gaze now (have you finished with those eye drops yet, I think I may have some need for them in a bit).

Thanks for coming out to play again. The b/w does not give intensity – I can imagine this in colour. This feels really laid back, sunny and quiet. Almost a lazy past (Deb will laugh when I type this but..) I could sit here all day bask in the sun and have a lovely glass of lemonade.

Such peace, a place where you can go find some (right now – very much needed) inner bliss and watch and gaze at mother nature as she just breezes past with such effortless glory.

Nice tonal work Rhana. The composition works very well for me. I like the texture in the grass and rocks. Those clouds are just to die for……I think Stuart has more than lemon in his lemonade…..

I love this in B&W…the three parts to this image, each bring such depth….and lots to think about.

    XOXO

It’s wonderful to have you back and playing with us again – the playground just hasn’t been the same without you!
I’m a bit with Stuart on this one – for b/w I think this one needed less foreground and sky above – it’s all about the tree and its sacrifice and that gets a bit lost in the landscape. I doubt this would happen so much in the colour version so would love to see it. This is one brilliant tree and would look absolutely brilliant silhouetted against a full moonlit sky with a creeping shadow across the ground.
Now isn’t that typical. Start off saying something nice and mushy and then turn into the playground bully (talk about feeding hands being bitten)!!
