Mount Roland
One of my favourite mountains… no matter which way you approach it, it has this delightful and yet slightly disconcerting way of popping out at you when you least expect it.

Lovely Rhana. I scoped out this spot last time I was up that way, I reckon the owners are probably getting sick of the Tasmanian photo community at their fence. You just can’t beat that foreground! Great colours.

It was a little dry when we were there Nick, and to be honest I was shit scared some slithery type creature was gonna get me as I lurked outside the fence in knee high weeds. You would think the owners would have a care and mow that stuff down for us yeah? ;)

Nice perspective and framing :)

Wow – does this pop with the black frame or what? What a beauty this is Rhana. I find photographing mountains really hard in trying to convey their actual majesty and grandeur – you have succeeded completely here with this composition. Very, very beautiful.

Oo baby. Now this is like a little slice of heaven. Carved away lovingly and placed eliquently on earth. I’ll have to start somewhere so from the top:
Tree – Nice frame along the top and o the side, fits snugly around the mountain and gives me a sense of enclosure and comfort.
Sky – This is one blue enriched, white fluffy cloud inhabited corker of a sky. The perfect sky for this kind of shot and as usual, you’ve nailed the colours to the mast with a resounding ding!
Mountain – Perfectly lit, shadows and textures are crisp and clear and it looks so majestic bathed in that light with the rolling greens.
Grass – Rolling up and down the grass looks pristine and ready for a perfect picnic.
Lake – So calm and peaceful. Picks up the reflections a treat. Even the way the reflection of the mountain dips around the foreground in lower left is so damn perfect.
The fence thingy – What really really makes the shot for me. The lighting on it is nothing short of superb and its placement is just spot on. Very leading and just so damn gorgeous.
Foreground – Fits in so well and just tops off a fantastic shot.
I think I have a new fave Bella!

Terrific landscape Rhana, this just “pops” out at you.
Nicely framed with the tree, the fence adds that extra dimension and the colour is superb.

Where have you been hiding this? I know, it’s been here all along and I’m just not looking in the right places, yeah?
Your mountain is cool and I can see how it can pop up and grab you when you think you’re safe. But what’s cool about this is the way you’re showing it to us. It’s like you’re in this lovely little feelgood area surrounded by grass and trees and fences and stuff that makes you cozy and secure… then you’re suddenly sucked out and flying towards this amazing vista like there’s a whole world out there we haven’t seen yet and it’s scary but it’s magnificent so you have to do it even though it’s cozy where you are… and you’re glad you did it. THAT’s how you inspire, in a nutshell. Amen.

BB, its pretty hard to hide a bloody mountain that big!!! (laughs) When we were out on the weekend Mount Roland did its amazing little POP out at me again! I didn’t think we were anywhere near the place and then WHAM! It got me again!!!!
Have I ever told you just how much I love the way you interpret my stuff? Well… I do.
Amen.
