You show a real connection to the piece and love the amount of work you have put into this… If it is your sanctuary then you have done extreme justice in it’s portrayal through aesthetics and the visual medium. Rhana, I know a thing or 2 about sanctuaries, and I can feel the inner sanctum of this place caressing the soul… and the silence… can`t even hear myself think as I look at this. You`ve made the world outside this place so dark and foreboding, and so the fortress illuminates like a beacon so you can find it no matter where you are. Looks like my kind of place… can you show us inside?

Oh wow Rhana – I’ve seen a million Port Arthur shots and this is definitely one of the very best – you have so successfully rendered the atmosphere of the place as I’ve experienced it – sanctuary indeed.

I felt the same sense of connection when I was there, it was a very strange feeling to have, and I was so overwhelmed.

Apologies also for not knowing anything about Port Arthur (although I have just brushed by reading about it on the internet – so I now feel ready to comment).

I like the way you have chosen the dark to portray this place. The brickwork seems to ghost out of the darkness itself and sits nicely on the dark velvet greens. The backdrop of mean menacing sky and stark tree branches hang threatingly on the horizon and the is definately a real edge to the shot.

Although the light does seem to shine through (almost as symbolic as a light shining at the end of the tunnel) so there is hope yet.

Thankyou all so very very much for your wonderful, insightful comments on a piece that is very close to my heart. I’m proud that I have been able to convey the dark beauty of this place to you all.
