Take Me Away
The Tardis… The ultimate Freedom Machine. Forget travelling back in time, or to planets inhabited by strange, fascinating and terribly sexy creatures. If Dr Who were to offer me a ride this is where I would want to go.
Well… here or back to his place ;)
Oh, and as for the fact that the real Tardis is blue not red – well of COURSE mine would be red! My blue phase is soooo yesterday ;)

Juilee Pryor

Rhana Griffin

Vastness, space and freedom..I’d go there too..lie in that field of flowers and just look up into that great blue sky. When do we leave?...
Rhana Griffin

I’ll pick you up in just a jiffy Marion… oh, shit. Hold on. I seem to have misplaced the keys. I have my sonic screwdriver but no bloody keys!!!

Torfinn Johann...
Excellent colours, and composition. Well done!
Rhana Griffin
replied
Thanks Torfinn…
Marion Cullen
No keys required Rhana…your Tardis opens it’s door for anyone who dares to dream.
(Boy it’s gonna get crowded in there) :-)
Rhana Griffin
replied
Really Marion? Well i’ll be there as soon as I’ve cooked dinner then… bloody kids wont let me go Tardising until I have fed them ;)
I don’t believe it is possible for the Tardis to get crowded is it? Doesnt it kinda grow organically according to the space required?
ozjami
thanks Rhana !!Watch out for those Black holes and Cosmic super strings LOL
Rhana Griffin
replied
.......and dont forget the tears in the fabric of time ;)
Juilee Pryor
hmmm now were would I like to go…. can we do costume dramas like on the TV? pick a time to go back or forward to? be at a moment in history say? is it that sort of Tardis?
Rhana Griffin
replied
Oh most definately Juilee!!! Any time, any place, any planet =))
Marion Cullen
Ah, bring the kids, tell them we’ll drop them off somewhere ‘nice’, like the Far Away Tree…where the little folk will feed them. Lol
And you’re right, the Tardis is very ‘accommodating’. See you soon then babe…
Rhana Griffin
replied
I now have visions of The Saucepan Man… I have to stifle my giggles when I read these books out loud to my boys. Jo and Bessie I can handle… but I have REAL problems when it comes to reading Fanny and Dick in the same sentence!
Oh god… I am so bloody juvenile sometimes…
Juilee Pryor
Ok well since I”m in polar mode at the moment I want to go back to the time of the race for the Pole with Captain Scott and Roald Amundsen. I want to know what really happened in that tent. But we could use pretend snow coz real snow is really cold. And it would melt in the Tardis. .....:)
Rhana Griffin
replied
“What really happened in that tent?” Ok Juilee… you have my interest now… I have NO idea what you are talking about so as soon as I have finished responding here I am off to rectify my ignorance.
Marion Cullen
Heehee…it made me giggle out loud just reading it here. What does that say about me! Lol
Know what you mean though.
Rhana Griffin
replied
Marion… what that says about you is that you are just as juvenile as I am. Can you imagine us on a night out together? Oh dear lordy look OUT!!! I have a feeling we may get arrested before the night is out.
susan davies
brilliant piece
billyboy
Wow, this is like the Wizard of Oz when Dorothy wakes up from her drugged out stupor after the (white winged) angel makes it smow over the poppies… so this is your Wizard of Taz, travelling in his passion red tardis to bless the places you love. That is so romantic and so NOT blue. Was wondering when you`d kick the habit! Nice work lady!!
BTW, how`s the old heart doin’? No post-op trauma? Stitches holding up? X~
Rhana Griffin
replied
BB… I so wish I was Dorothy! She has those kick arse red shoes remember? I’d kill any number of wicked witches to get my hands on those little puppies!
billyboy
OK, she was a fairy godmother… probably an ex-dragonfly…
Deborah Bowness
“Either that or back to his place!”....Rhana you crack me up girl!! Gotta agree with you though, Dr Who is hot!! Anyhow, back to the work….FABULOUS….typical Rhana style and gorgeous colours!!
Rhana Griffin
replied
Oh Dr who is sooooooooo hawt!!! He can put his slippers under my bed any day of the week. And one in five million looks gorgeous! I am so glad you are happy with it darl xxx
Deborah Bowness
Oh, just remembered….did you check out the buyers booth, your laminate looks awesome!!
Halcyon007
Field of Dreams perhaps (especially as the Tardis was a Police Box and not a telephone box, so the colour can be whatever you like too).
Very reminiscent to the opening scenes of Final Fantasy VIII which was also a dream that then became a vision before reality, so maybe the doctor (hopefully in a form that you like) will one day whisk you off to this magical land.
The combination of all the elements do combine well, and as if there weren’t enough flowers, your “Tardis” has given a part invisible them to show you what lies further.
The sky is lovely and very calming, just makes you want to open the cloudy lemonade, open up a picnic blanket, sit down and soak in the pleasure that Mother Nature offers.
As to coming aboard with you all in the Phone Box – Looks a bit more like Bill & Ted to me. It get very claustrophobic in there and unless someone brings a wire coathanger and some chewing gum in case it breaks, i’ll give it a miss. “Strange things are afoot at the Circle-K” dude!
Rhana Griffin
replied
Stuart, I just love your essay ramblings on my work. {{hugs}} So I will forgive your pickiness on the fact the Tardis was a police box and not a phone box. We dont have police boxes in Oz… wtf is with them anyways? Is crime so rampant in the UK that it is not enough to have police stations you must also have one of your Bobby’s stationed in his own little box on every street corner?
...scary.
And dont forget… Bill and Ted had a most excellent adventure. In fact, were you to come along I am sure you would be one of the lead characters!! You have a touch of Keanu about you ;)
Elaine van Dyk
I love this, Rhana. That red telephone box is fantastic – especially with the blue sky. I want a Tardis!!!!
David Harris
Great image you have created! Nice work!
Deborah Parkin
You always make me smile :)
Even when you are killing people LOL!!!
This is sooo beautiful Rhana – can see why you want to come to this place – can i join you??
Rhana Griffin
replied
Yes Deb… yes you can join us. In fact I dont think any Tardis adventure would be complete without you! Imagine all those fabulous worlds we would discover together… you could capture their awesomeness and malevolence in black and white, and I could make even the most terrifying world look like a scene out of the Wizard of Oz. When we got back and had the inevitable slide show for all the RB’ers who were too wussy to come with us (complete with cordial and cucumber sandwiches) they would wonder if indeed, you and I had been to completely opposite sides of the universe!
LocoCow
Great COmpo. I need One..

This is so surreal Rhana, love it and the colours are so vivid, fantastic work. I love those old red phone boxes.
Juilee Pryor
Hi Rhana…sorry about being so obscure. When Captain Scott was beaten to the South Pole by Amundsen it was a real tragedy. He and all his party died on the way back. Great story and all that. On the way back after the first guy (Seaman Edgar Evans) died they were all in desperate straight. Then the next guy to die was Titus Oates. He walked out of the tent into a blizzard to his certain death saying…..”I’m just stepping outside for a while and may be some time….”
Its one of the most famous throwaway lines in history….. but did it really happen? Did he really say that and go noblely to his death or did the other guys ask him to nick off and not come back?
Its a very curious question that no one can really answer. One of those if only I was a fly on the wall of the tent at the time sort of things. And if we all went back in time would that change the outcome? in which case would Scotts story still be relevant today? Who knows ? Anyway its been raining here for weeks and weeks so maybe it would be better if the Tardis took us all somewhere warm and dry instead….....:)
Rhana Griffin
replied
Thanks so much Juilee… I think there is much that has happened in history that we will never really know exactly what happened. So much has likely been glorified just for the sake of a “good story”
Weather is lovely here in Tassie… albeit a bit on the chilly side. But the sun is shining, and there are big fluffy white clouds outside. Shall I send the Tardis to come pick you up? =)
Juilee Pryor
Honey its pissing down here but still sticky so yes please send the Tardis and we’ll go on a picnic…..so who would you choose as picnic guests if you could choose from anybody living or dead famous infamous or just fabulous nobodies….. :)
Rhana Griffin
replied
Here goes Juilee…
First of all I am inviting Jamie Oliver. He is easy on the eyes, and I would tell him the picnic starts at 12pm instead of 2pm like I would tell everyone else… then when he arrives play the damsel in distress so that he takes pity on me and makes up all the picnic trimmings for everyone.
Jack Sparrow. Let me make it PERFECTLY clear here… I am inviting the pirate, not the actor. I feel Jack is a kindred spirit. A little left of centre and not afraid to go out on a limb to get what he wants. His code is more like guidelines… bending the rules to fit his unique circumstances. Plus.. He could bring the rum!
Wolfgang Amadeaus Mozart. Nothing quite like having your very own musical genius to entertain your guests.
Margaret Thatcher. Every dinner party has to have at least ONE person you can hang shit on. I mean come ON! That HAIR! That horsey face! How she completely fucked over England.
Billy Connolly. No picnic would ever be boring with this man around. He swears as much as I do and I love his irreverent humour.
Angelina Jolie. Eye candy for both the boys AND the girls =)
My Nanna. She died over ten years ago, and her loss still pains me as much today as it did then. What I wouldn’t give for one more hug.
BuddyH
nice process!
Andrew Bosman
Well constructed image Rhana and as a BIG Dr Who fan I would love a trip in the Tardis!
Juilee Pryor
This is a way cool line up…. if Jack Sparrow comes can I talk to Johnny Depp while your busy…. please ….. I’ll be soooo nice to him…...:) And if Angelia comes can she bring her fella as well…. hells bells if they both come then all the kiddies will come as well so better pack some red cordial and face wipes as well…....:)
Carisma
(asking for forgiveness) I leave on other side of world – give me a break !!!LOL

Paul Tupman
Rhana! This is brilliant work.. love what you have done here.. very dream like. Its like you touched down in some sort of land of Oz.. I can just imagine some witches feet sticking out from under the phone box and you stepping out in your black and red boots instead of the red slippers! That’s another one dead!
kcranmer

Interesting… great work! :)
Mel Brackstone
Ahhh….but which Dr Who would you choose?
Don’t make me read all those comments…..pleasssssse?
Rhana Griffin
replied
Mel, Tom Baker is my all time fave Dr Who… in fact I am knitting a tribute scarf to him at present… vibrant colours and when finished will be long enough to wrap around my neck and fall to my anlkles.
However, if we’re talking smooch-ability and ratings on my patented HAWT-O-METER then it would have to be David Tenant or Christopher Eccleston ;)
Mel Brackstone
I fully concur…..you have great taste madame :)
derekmccrea
amazing
Lindsay Blamey
Wow – cool concept.. great work!
Rebecca Cozart
Agree with Lindsay…cool concept. Nice work.
Jenni Tanner
I love this Rhana. I love all of the comments you’ve received, some of them are priceless!
)
No-one seems to have noticed that you’ve stolen the Tardis and chosen to land in the middle of what looks like a field of opium poppies! There are lots of Opium fields down in Tas – I nearly got arrested taking photos of “the pretty pink flowers in the field” when I was down there a few years back. (I hope they’re poppies
Rhana Griffin
replied
Hi Jenni, yes they are indeed poppies, and I am truly surprised it has taken this long for someone to make that connection! You rock! Thanks so much for stopping by :)
