Liffey Falls, Tasmania
Walking to the bottom of Liffey Falls today was the perfect way to work off what was quite possibly the biggest jam and cream bun in the entire history of the world. If you are ever passing through Deloraine in Tasmania you simply must stop at the frog bakery.
This shot was taken about half way down the walking track. And was the last shot taken before my poor Canon 40D started giving me random Error 99 messages :( I managed to get another couple of decent shots, but it was soul destroying to be in amongst some beautiful rainforest and gorgeous waterfalls with a defective camera. Now I need to go and find my instruction book and see if I can work out how exactly I have offended the Canon Gods. I have a feeling it may be something to do with the shutter sticking.
sigh
However, on the upside I did manage to get this shot which received the following comment from my trusty packhorse, slimey rock tester and bottom pusherer – my hubby.
“Well babe, you gotta be happy you got that!”
High praise indeed :))

Fantastic capture Rhana and LOVE your words! You are such a dag (in the nicest way, of course!!).... and I can only imagine how frustrated you were with Error 99 – chills to the heart!! Have had that happen myself (but not Canon!)... Soul destroying is a very apt description!!! Good luck with the Canon Gods!!:))

Look at you, with your dreamy silky water, amazing light and your eye for composition! All that with a defective camera! That’s talent…

You are too kind Mike. Real talent would have been thinking to take a back up camera ;)

I know of people who had this error too. One person said they had dirty contacts between the body and lens and after cleaning it had gone. Maybe coincidence but maybe worth going onto dpreview website and going into the forums there, I am sure there would be someone else with this problem. Great photo BTW, Good you capture that one.

Thanks so much for your advice and help Ric. I am going to give my contacts some tender loving care this afternoon and see if I can get things working again :)

Thanks Rodney, I would have loved to have been out in the middle of the river, but we have had so much rain lately that I would have been swept away for sure!

Looks like a really magical place, rushing water amongst green and brown scenery, nice and peaceful indeed.
As for the error message – ? Haven’t got a scoobies and the thought of any size bun makes me feel ill as I type having returned from having the largest mexican this side of (erm Mexico I guess) and am too bloated to think anymore about food.

Its probably the huge Jam and Cream bun that made me imagine this was sugar running down the riverbed !!!!!!
Rhana Griffin
replied
I’m pretty sure that the jam and cream bun was bigger than this waterfall!
