Cradle Mountain Boatshed
I could have given you the standard run of the mill Cradle Mountain shot… I decided instead to go with this as the line of the mountain behind this boatshed was just sensational.
And yes, that is the corner of Cradle Mountain itself on the far left hand side which I think balances the other mountain wonderfully.

Was there much snow/ice on the paths? We were slip sliding everywhere! In fact there was someone being stretchered down the mountain while we were there… he had broken his ankle!
AlexMac
yes there was, it was the most terrifying hike of my life, At one stage I fell down the steps at a very dangerous part of the mountain, but thankfully my camera bag saved me :0) it has snowed more since I have been there by the looks of your image here, we were hiking in 2mts deep snow up to the Kitchen Hut, have you been there, its beautiful

Sadly no… I am definately not a mountain goat. I trip over a crack in the pathway, so it would take me a month of Sundays to get to Kitchen Hut! We had a nice snowfall in the middle of last week, and are expecting more snow about Wednesday.

I LOVE this area! But regretably I haven’t been there when it had snow. Thanks for re-awakening my dreams. I walked to Kitchens hut in the Summer, no snow there then.

I’ve been up there at the end of summer, still cold but safe to climb. Stunning views as far as you can see. I love the look of this hut on the side of Dove lake.

You could have given me anything as I know not the standard run of the mill Cradle Mountain shot, nor any other Cradle Mountain shot either.
Love my first view of Cradle Mountain. Snow peaked and that lone boat house places perspective alongide the interesting foreground view.

Don’t know how that old boatshed survives year in and year out but it certainly adds to the atmosphere of the place. Beautifully composed and the colours are just magnificent plus that snow – gorgeousness.

Nicely balanced composition. I’d love to visit that part of the world.
