Camp Draft
Camp draft…where a rider and his horse have to segregate 1 cow from 20 in camp. Once they have chosen their cow they give the call to open the gates and out on the field they have to manouveur this cow around 2 posts in a figure eight and then through the middle of 2 posts at the bottom of the field. Not an easy task. I only saw 4 riders successfully achieve this out of 100’s of competitors.
Camp Draft belongs to the following groups:

Great shot, the cow doesn’t look too happy!

LOL no trust me these particular cows were not impressed at all. Some simply stopped and turned around and took on the horse and rider! Very cranky cows!

Great action – dirt flying and the lean of both horse and cow is a classic. Well done

This is wonderful! I am deep in the heart of rodeo country here in Texas, and I’ve never seen this particular event at any of them :) Could it be that the Aussies really “invented” rodeo, and just have a different name for it? If they did, it sounds like they are more the ranchers than our cowboys are :)
Great action shot =)
