Spirits and Demons
This piece is a homage piece to artists, anime’s I like and old horror films. I’ve put in characters that I like and some elements that are similar to characters and imagery and ideas I like from other artists I admire.
But the Idea behind it is more than that. It’s an illustration about the connection and seduction of the spirit realm. I had the idea in my mind. It’s somewhat change into a more epic styled piece with simple use of colors, with composition and contrast in mind.
The semi nude aspect is representative of the pure, fragile nature of the human mind, and how easily our minds can be manipulated by the unseen and unperceived.

There are lots of anime references in here. Mostly from the series Inu Yasha. I can’t say I watch a lot of anime these days.
I think my favorite part of the illustration process, is adding the detail to the piece. Because if you blew this up to it’s full size you’d see lots more lines.
