Pure watercolour. On paper Saunders Waterford Original painting : 14″ × 18″
I have picked these gorgeous roses in our daughter’s garden. The buds are dark red, when they open the flowers are a blueish pink. Delicious and romantic. I did not wish to paint a background, I felt that it needed to keep fresh.
Beatrice ..this is so beautifully painted…I have tried and tried to paint roses ..but no success…these are so delicate and just love the colours..!!!!georgeous…..
Thank you so much for your lovely comments Katy. You must not stop trying. It took me ages to master them! Your watercolour are so very nice too!
great work – I think you are right in leaving out the background.
Thank you Julie. Yes I thought that a couloured background would have spoilt the feel of the painting. We will never know….. lol. I am glad that you think alike.
