This is my latest visitor!!!, I found it in my front garden & grabbed my camera, got a few snaps as i chased it out & away from the house!, They are non-venomous, but cause localized swelling, our dog has been bitten on his lip before by one & it swelled up for 2 days, It was funny cos it was only swollen one side of his mouth!- poor Zak!- Anyhoo, they are fast, known as the ‘greyhound’ of the snake world, active in the daytime, very common in all areas of Nsw Australia, ( where we live!) They have an amazing rust color along the top third of their back & a black circle around the eye, with a distinctive backwards ‘comma’ under it, this is what identifies it. An amazing looking reptile actually.

Very interesting shot! Great color and detail!! I don’t think I would’ve wanted to get this close though.

Gorgeous! It sounds like there is a real abundance of wildlife where you live!

  • There sure is!!, I live 20km out of town in a valley in northern NSW,my driveway is 2km of dirt track, so you can imagine how much wildlife there is, I really am very lucky to live in such a paradise, I am so thankful daily for it. xxx
It is also very helpful in my desire & passion I have for Nature photography!.
