All these snakes habitat the areas In and around our home, they aren’t deadly venomous but can be mildly dangerous, ( compared to some! ) if your really unlucky!, I don’t get too close, I use the zoom & macro settings so i don’t have to!!
*The Green Carpet python is living in our roof catching all the mice & rats for us!, He’s totally harmless & is more of a friend than anything!, He gets curious when Alan is on the roof working-building etc,- & comes out to say hello!?, He looks a bit pissed off sometimes like we interrupted his napping! These snakes are constrictors, they suffocate by squeezing there victims, non-venomous, they are no threat whatsoever. They can move really fast, using their muscles to get along!.
*The ‘Green Tree Snake’ I found down in the paddock, It is venomous, but only slightly, This snakes markings are really interesting, It is a black color with a yellow underneath, its got really beady eyes, dots of vibrant blue spotted across it’s back, and a pitch black tongue, it’s quite an angry snake really!!, It prefers to be left alone to get on with its thing!!
*The ‘Yellow Whip Snake’ had come a bit close to the house, ( which is unusual, as they tend to stay away. ) This snake has a rusty colored flush down the back of its top half & a backwards comma shape under its eye, this is its common markings for identification. Another reasonably harmless snake but can give a vicious bite, The bite causes localized ( where bitten ) swelling for a few days as the venom goes through your system!, You can feel a bit sick, but it’s not deadly, They are small & thin, are very quick movers and are unusually active in the daytime as opposed to the night like most other snake species.
I hope you enjoy these pics, Thanks for taking the time to have a look.
