Alex Kearns

I am a law student living in the glorious state of Oregon. As an undergraduate I studied Sociology and Politics at Whitman College. Generally, as long as I have my music, my camera, and my family I will be as happy as can be. When I get extra time I travel the world. My favorite activity of all is to turn up my car stereo and drive until I am completely lost. It’s in those moments I feel the most independent yet the most connected to the world around me.

I never use photoshop on any of my photos. I prefer doing what I can with a camera in hand without editing later. The few in my profile that you will see that have been edited (like the hot air ballon piece) have been edited to the extreme in color contrast to be an art piece as opposed to a straight photography piece. Any other small edits are limited to what I would be able to do in a wet darkroom with film. Although I do not include any film pieces here on redbubble I also shoot film and develop it in my college darkroom. Although I started as a digital photographer I felt it was important to understand all aspects of photography. I truly believe processing film has broadened my photography abilities.
