Twisting the light shines down,
mesmerising and captivating,
the path it traces shooting outwards at me,
a warm dawn brightening the night.
The shadows passing over it are shallow,
partial glimpses,
blink and they are gone,
such is the power of the light.
The white flashes behind come not pure,
as few are,
but close enough to shine and be human,
comforting reminders of consistency and promise.
The darkness and dull pink from beyond beckons,
a warm safe place,
to hide fromm trouble,
to relinquish woe,
to fall into and never resurface.
