the haiku marathon (part 9)

leave me alone please
phone stalker extraordinaire
i don’t make pizzas

when the chips are down
hunt around in the pantry
for another bag

these books delivered
cheer me, rouse me, steel my nerves
ready for the fight

oh where have you gone
my lovely weary blue gal?
gone many a mile

when will you return
my lovely weary blue gal?
gone many a year

is it true what’s said
my lovely weary blue gal?
gone many a night

did you hear my song
my lovely weary blue gal?
gone many an hour

here ends this suite dear
my lovely weary blue girl
gone away from me

a street in full bloom
seven cars bright red and gold
gone on their own breeze

actioning cases
at a dull grey office desk
for seven long hours

spring blusters in hard
a sudden punch to the heart
i’m bullied, breathless

poor blindfolded fool
disorientated me
wants to go dancing

when did i fall, sir?
and did i graze my knee, sir?
where came all this blood?

saltwater dreaming
bobbing in a midnight sea
adrift under stars

don’t work me too hard
or you’ll void the warranty
when my spring goes poink

do drop in again
here’s your hat what’s your hurry
must you go get lost

messages in glass
put there by a dumb pigeon
dropped from its arse

the tea tastes milky
how long did you steep the bag?
all the same thanks chum

ordering glasses
online what was i thinking
i look like harold

those sugarcane dreams
back again with ten years gone
smell of blood and smoke

she’s in overdrive
her tommy-gun mouth lets rip
nervous hands form fists

the rev of engines
the drone that ebbs in their wake
the morning is torn

when you smile i die
when i die you smile sweetly
so much in common

songs of love broken
rhymes of heartbreak and sorrow
slow on the jukebox

whistle the tune boys
who’s going to carry him
down to the garden

bbq ribs please
smothered in sticky plum sauce
seared over hot coals

library meeting
seven heads nodding as one
no voice of dissent

a breath a rustle
give me something to die for
a breeze, puff or sigh

That’s my fave, because Spring punches me in the heart,I love it!but I read i again and wonder are you talking about allergies because Spring bullies you and leaves you breathless?Anyway it’s still my fave.Love the way you gave a season a personality :-)

  • Thanks. I like Spring too. You can take this either as about allergies or about Spring’s persona and romance. works either way.
