A long time between visits..... by Bear

I don’t know about the rest of you out here in redbubble land but I tend to go through phases with my photography. I seem to lack any creativity and/or inspiration to actually get out and shoot and then am never happy with the results, only seeing the flaws and how I could have done better.

I used to scuba dive a lot (almost every weekend) and one of the driving forces that got me into photography was people asking me what I had seen during each dive.. To assist with that, I soon had a housed camera set up and spent a lot of time photographing submerged shipwrecks and the life that abounds on them and got some quite reasonable results, some that I was very proud of, some even being published in magazines but then life changed with children demanding more of my time and less available to pursue my passion.

I attempted to migrate to “above water” and had a real mixed bag, nothing was ever good enough and have gigs of images that I haven’t bothered processing because I was disappointed in what I was seeing and my inability to ‘capture the moment’…

My enthusiasm has started to return, a day trip to Sassafrass, sneaking shots here and there, posing as a model for a friend, has changed my outlook. So much so, I have returned to redbubble to rekindle the flame.

I am especially indebted to some great photographers on this site that are in my “watch list” for giving me the “reason” to get back and explore the genre. An hour or two looking through portfolios has inspired me and I look forward to returning being an “active” photographer… Thank you…
