Hover Fly 1 by

Hover Fly, or Syrphidae (Eupeodes corolla – I think), are often mistaken for bees or wasps. The adult flies help with pollination of plants and their larvae love to feed on aphids or thrip making them a very useful addition to any garden. Plants which are said to help attract them to the garden are parsley (pictured) alyssium and chamomile.
