hey there everyone.
Just thought I would stick my head into my very neglected RB page and see whats been happening. I am very impressed with the work that I have been seeing and am always astounded in the stuff that you guys come up with!
I have been so terribly busy this last year, weddings – weddings – sport – sport – design – design… busy – busy, so unfortunately my art stuff has suffered a bit. But I have had a great year with some stuff being published in an indi art magazine – gofish, which was awesome since I tend towards being my own worst critic and dont put too much out in the big bad world.
I have shot weddings from the Melbourne CBD to the south coast of NSW to Sydney and back home to the Riverina – playing in areas that are so far between I have experienced everything from a day that topped out at 5 degrees with fog that limited vision to 10 metres to shooting in red dust and a billion bugs at 41 degrees or being given a total of 17 minutes to complete my ‘formal’ shots after a wedding so another wedding group could come in!!!! but with all these challenges all I can say is that it has made me a more efficient and better photographer.
In addition to my weddings I have had the pleasure to shoot various junior sporting events around the countryside, the clubs and kids appreciate the images that I donate to the clubs and I love seeing our future sporting champions in action – there certainly is an abundance of talent in Regional NSW – my eldest son included, who represtented the riverina region at state level three times in the past year in swimming athletics and cross country – which meant alot more time on the road this year to sydney, canberra and the greater riverina areas!!
Oh I nearly forgot, I have also had the pleasure in meeting and photographing so many wonderful families in and around Wagga Wagga.
2009 also meant a return to Interior design for me… it is great to use the three dimensional part of my brain again not to mention to play with the beautiful fabrics, wallpapers and finishes once again – 4 years is a long time to be away from something – but it still fits like a glove, and i love it!
Oh and I have to brag, 2009 saw me shed 13kgs!! YAY!! hard work to get it off, but I am so much better for it and made some awesome friends in the process!
after 6 months of actually playing with the thing, I have got my website up please check it out.
After a rocky start to the year, 2009 has finished off with me alive and breathing and as happy as I have been in a long time! as I said at the start of the year “2009 will be just fine” and it was!
thankyou for reading my year in review, I look forward to 2010, I cant see life slowing down at all, but I think those who say that Life beings at 40 or 50 are certainly wrong – life begins at 30, well it has for me!!
Ok… 2010… I will see you all then!
