Many years ago I painted. Then I realised that I did better at photography than painting – and that has been my medium of expression ever since.

A great scene Bette and superbly captured.. I really like the strong foreground detail in the rocks that leads beautifully into the pic and the dark sky in the opposite corner to balance out a very dramatic and dynamic landscape image.. The b/w is fabulous, this wonderful work is a fav with pleasure :-)))

  • Thank you very, very much Joseph for your very thoughtful discussion of my photo. I am very happy with your evaluation! :)

The lines of the clouds and those of the foreground rocks work beautifully together – diagonals are always such good compositional elements. Getting picky: straightening the horizon would improve the image. (This is something that always catches my attention because I tend to see “crooked” when I’m out shooting and often have to fix in processing.)

  • Yes, I agree, but this is the best that Photoshop would do for me! I think that it had something to do with the way the sea merges into the sand dunes – it confused the PS brain!
