Dampiera. by Bette Devine

Dampiera linearis. Common Dampiera.
Family: Goodeniaceae.
Widespread and common in the southwest of Western Australia.
Photographed at the Cranbourne Botanic Gardens, Victoria.

Many years ago I painted. Then I realised that I did better at photography than painting – and that has been my medium of expression ever since.

The color of royalty – and nicely accented with that bit of green at the center. The mass of blooms fills the frame beautifully!

  • Thanks, Celeste. You,ve reminded me that I tagged them ‘blue’ -they are definitely purple!
