Myrtle Beech ( nothofagus cunninghammii ) by a creek. Yarra Ranges National Park, Victoria, Australia.
tree, beech, stream, ferns, rocks, bette devine
Many years ago I painted. Then I realised that I did better at photography than painting – and that has been my medium of expression ever since.
It’s so lovely and lush, Bette! Love the composition! Were you aware that there is a popluar oceanside vacation spot in the US, called Myrtle Beach?
I’m happy that you like it Lynn. No, I do not know of the vacation spot – but this is a ‘beech’ – not a ‘beach’ :)
– Bette Devine
Superb capture. Bravo.
Many thanks for that comment, William!
The quiet beauty of the rainforest is so perfectly framed with that beech tree. Soothing and serene!
Thanks Celeste. Your response is all that I could desire. :)
Thank you, Albert!
I thought it was a play on words, Bette! The antithesis of the tourist trap in the US!
Hm. Probably not a play on words because I don’t think that the myrtle beech is found in America . Is it?
No, I don’t think so, but it’s possible in other parts of the US….we have beech trees where I live but not this species. I’ll have to look into it more!
Many thanks, Thea, for looking and commenting favourably!
A little piece of paradise, so beautiful!
I like that analogy! Thanks swaby!
Truly lovely !
I’m glad that you find it so, Elfriede! Thank you.
