Ziegfeld Girls ... Barbara Stanwyck 1929 by

Florenz Ziegfeld, Jr. (March 21, 1867 – July 22, 1932), (sometimes also called “Flo” Ziegfeld), was an American Broadway impresario, notable for his series of theatrical revues, the Ziegfeld Follies (1907–1931), inspired by the Folies Bergère of Paris. He also produced the musical Show Boat. He was known as the “glorifier of the American girl”.

I grew up with the elders always speaking about the Ziegfeld Follies, I did see the newer shows of this on Broadway in Manhattan years back as a child! Great Nostalgia!

  • I vaguely remember having seen one movie waaaay back – but I don’t remember what it was about.
They will never play again. Totally outdated. Yes – great nostalgia – a reminder of a kind of innocence ☺

Lovely series Kira! She was quite the actress in America and at one time the highest paid woman actress….I remember her for a western called The Big Valley in the 60’s.
