This is the song that will always remind me of my Mother and my sister, Ellen. I recall when my Mother got sick, I would play this song over and over, knowing that it would always be Mother’s song. I was the oldest of six children in my family. my sister, Ellen was the youngest. At the time my Mother passed, she was not yet six years old. She was such a quiet and gentle little girl and was most happy when my Father was at home. Well , many years later, after marriage and her family raised, Ellie for some reason was enchanted with this song. She even went to the library to copy the sheet music and brought it home to learn on the piano. A few days later, she passed away from an anurism at the age of 48. My brother-in-law told me of this music and lyrics sitting on the table near the door and he wondered at the signiticance. I told him the story of the song from my point of view and wondered if at her young age as a child she would have remembered that song and how I played it for Mother.., or if somehow Mother was reaching all of us through her. Thank you for sharing this. My heart is touched today. :~)
