Seven Steps, Grand Union Canal

Seven Steps, Grand Union Canal

Please View Large

This image was taken on the banks of the Grand Union Canal, at Watford in Northamptonshire. Please note that this is not the Watford that we all know but a small hamlet tucked away deep in Northants.

Although only 4 steps can be seen here the other three were being worked on and I felt spoilt the image.

Am totally smitten with the canals of Britain! Have cruised the Caledonian from Ft. William to Inverness, have hung around several others just to take in the sights & sounds. This is just wonderful.

It reminds me of the seven locks a bit further down at Stock Bruerne. But I don’t think I’ve seen locks that are so close together before! Great balanced shot!
