The squirrel is just a few feet away from a tray of peanuts. Looks very timid, as if he is trying to melt into the shadows, getting closer and closer to the edge.

oh Barry, how sweet! I love squirrels but although we get them here in Scotland we are not surrounded by trees at our house! I’m sOOoo jealous! :)))
Well, no luck with grass because of the dogs so we cultivated a little forest. Not so fast with being jealous, Angie. I’ve been envious of the view from your house – the fields AND the ocean.

Yeh, the ocean is definitely for me, so I guess I have to forego something eh! I was born and brought up by the sea, so come back by the sea 11 years ago was a God send. e do have squirrels in the locality but not in our garden.
I too was born and raised by the sea, but I left after college and moved farther and farther inland. Got to the point where I hallucinated the smell of the salt air. I found my way back too. Next time you see any of your squirrels, tell them that they distant cousins send their regards.
