Looking south along Lake Michigan from Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park. The rather challenging 450 ft drop to the lake does not deter all from swimming.

I am now primarily a digital photographer but with occasional lapses into film. I do minimal image processing except in those cases where I am creating a different piece of art. I am most fascinated by the beauty in everyday scenes and objects.

    but the 450 climb back up makes one think twice. Nice view- did you notice that when you looked across the lake the horizon was far enough away that you could actually see the curvature of the earth’s surface? I am enjoying your visit to the dunes almost as much as I enjoyed ours last year;-}

    Yes, I did notice the curvature. The Great Lakes are amazing. Absolutely awesome.

    Glad you like the return visit. I will be posting more over the next few days. Was inspired when I heard that Sleeping Dunes was voted best in America by some poll.

    Actually, you can find the whole set on facebook here or my facebook page

    Enjoy!

    As you might imagine, with that climb, I thought more than twice – and just watched others struggle.
