A Cloth doll by Lenci sold at auction on October 31st 2009. This doll is a beautiful example of these collectible designer cloth dolls manufactured in the 1920’s and 1930’s. This unmistakable look which can’t be described but which is as distinctive as a fingerprint was created by “Madame Lenci”, also known as Elena Scavini, and the “look” was patented in 1921. The Lenci look has since been copied by many doll designers and many types of dolls with this “look” have become known as dolls of the Lenci style. Some are quite cute and others beautiful. This one was a beauty which inspired a photograph before the auction.

Thanks Evita. I wish I could have bought her but the picture was the best I could do. She was quite lovely.
