It’s snow, Barb. The density of the crystals is so great, they begin to fall, but evaporate before they hit the ground… usually. One might see little sparkles in the air, but if they do make it to the ground, they are ‘gone’ in an instant. I have seen these a couple of time, here in Florida’s wintertime. Nice capture! :-)
Thanks pete…. i really appreciate your input…. i’m not sure that is what this was, since it was a fairly warm day about a week ago…. and we have had no snow yet…. i know you said they evaporate before they hit the ground…. but it needs to be cold enough for it to snow, doesn’t it? Thanks again for your lovely response.
Amazing cloud formation, almost like a tornado. Excellent Sis
I just thought it was so strange…. it was getting to be late afternoon, and when i looked at the picture, it didn’t look like what i remembered, so i did balance the levels in this one, and this is what i got…. thanks my dear bro and friend for your fantastic response!
Thanks so much LL…. I’m glad you liked this one. Your response to my work has been incredible… i can’t begin to tell you how much it means to me… hugs!
Wow….I’ve never seen anything like it! What an amazing capture!!
me either, sis… you would think with all the pictures on clouds, there would be one that looked similar. But i have never seen anything but a tornado that would compare. Big hugs, Barb, my sis….. ♥♥♥♥
Such an amazing image deserves to be where everyone can see it! Congratulations on being Featured!
Thanks Barb… but i thought we didn’t feature the group hosts…. but i have to say, I am thrilled… and thank you so much for doing this …. big hugs! (i know you are just getting back at me for posting your pictures…. but that’s ok… i still love you!)
Wonderful capture. Shown this at work and us Aussies think it looks like an aeral jelly fish. Or we just need to go home LOL!
Thanks, Judith for my first laugh of the day!! It blew me away that you showed this to your friends at work! Wow…. Thanks so much for your great comment, your visit to my site, and for making me laugh!
