What Could This Be? HELPPP!!! by

We were on our way to Durham, North Carolina, and I noticed that the traffic on the other side of the interstate was backed up… then i noticed this huge thing… it was very long, and the whole thing had over 100 wheels… with an extra Semi behind it…. The thing was enormous!! but i have no idea what it was….. Do you know?

It is a high pressure component for some processing company ~ may be nuclear. I don’t know but it is HUGE, they are only allowed to take a load like this for a certain number of miles on an interstate during the day then they have to pull off and stop. Sometimes they only make forty or fifty miles a day. I have seen some big loads but never one to compare with this.
  • i counted the tired, and counting the tractor… there has to be over a hundred tires…. you can only imagine how really big it was… it really was as scary as it looks… i’ve never seen anything coming down the road that was that big…. i sure would hate to be the driver! Thanks for your response to this… and i think you have got to be pretty close to being right… if everyone that views this would make it a favorite, i think we might find out what it is… it can’t go very far, it was moving so slow… i don’t know if the tractor behind it was a spare in case there was trouble .. or if he was there to help push it up a hill… lol… your guess is better than mine!

Impressive shot, Barbara. I doubt the truth could be as frightening as the story you convey by photo.

  • if you let your imagination run wild… it could be something very threatening…. i’m glad you liked the picture, and i hope that we will find out exactly what it is… it could possibly be something they use in some type of factory… i guess we just have to wait and see…. i’ll let you know if we find out… hugs, my friend!

I agree with Barnsis…some kind of industrial pressure vessel. Probably will be used to process cat food! LOL!
    Happy Holidays Barb!

I believe it to be a rocket that will launch some sort of satelite. If you note the spaced out protruding studs with flat plates, they are the mounting extensions for an outer hull or the crafts skin. The large protruding vents at the tail end are for attaching the rocket engines.
One has to remember that these huge assemblies are made by several contracted companies, therefore requireing them to be transported several places in order to be completed for final transport to the Cape.

  • ok… if so why was it headed north on I-85 north of durham?

Could be part of a refinery or some other industrial process thingy, or I dunno, a DoD project. Headed north, eh? So not launching from Canaveral. This is great fun. If you disappear, will that mean the DoD didn’t want you taking pics and posting? If so, why no camouflage? Or is this camouflage?

  • I can’t believe i forgot to check this page, and imagine my smile when i saw that you had responded… hahaha…. i have no idea what it is, or where it was going, or why…. Maybe i should go into hiding???

Barb, Would you like to try again? Like, maybe, on accounta, read my second paragraph? Thanks, my friend! :-)

  • if it gets much bigger, they will have to close the highway to get it to where it’s going, pete…. and it was already blocking two lanes of traffic…. i’m still open to suggestions tho. … read the next response from Linmarie!

SEE the aliens have landed,, why are they shipping them north to us???? TEEHEEHEEE!! I have been reading the others comments,, this is very intriguing, will show hubby tonight, he is the brainiack, see what he thinks about it.. i see lots of pressure valves also.. so do feel it is going to some factory,, or better yet,, oil site?.. looks like made of no corrosive material.. great catch my friend, got us going with this one,, will fav. to come back and see what folks find out..
    hugs?

  • Did Hubby know? sorry i’m so late responding…. i forgot to check this entry in my portfolio. I was hoping that someone would know… but so far, it’s only guesses… or people who THINK they know…hahahahaa
