Murrumbidgee Floods Pano by

16 shot pano, Nikon D7000, 70mm. Part of the huge area of farmland on the outskirts of Wagga Wagga devastated by the floods this week (March 5 on). This area is normally farmland, and beyond the trees in the background is the suburb of North Wagga, totally flooded by this extreme flood – one of the highest on record. The central city was evacuated as a precaution as the flood peak was expected to be 10.9 metres, the levee banks are only 11 metres, but fotunately the peak was only 10.5 – still far too close for comfort!

An amateur, but a long love of photography. A recent move to digital has seen the love ‘blossom’, and a greater enjoyment in the field. I will try most forms of photography, and gain both knowledge and fun out of the experimentation. Using a Nikon D300 and D7000, with a range of lenses, and filters. I hope you enjoy the views as much as I’ve enjoyed taking them.

Shame the Redbubble program doesn’t allow this to be viewed in the size it deserves Barry … brilliant pano♥

  • Thanks heaps Bev, yeah sure is! The only reasonable view is at the top of the page! wish they would do something about it! That’s why I put it up on 500px as well.

So sad about the flooding… We’ve been having some crazy weather of late, haven’t we… God help us all…

    Fabulous panorama though!

  • Thanks heaps again Donna, and for the fave too. Yes, it’s been terrible! The week of rain that led to this flood was so unusual for around here – just poured down for the whole week! And with the river already up, the dams full, it was a disaster waiting to happen. Now it’s the turn of the towns downstream to be devastated, and now the coast as well.

Far out Baz !! ..This looks awesome buddy – Love it xx

  • Thanks heaps Gail, for fave too ::))) Was just such an awesome sight, trying to capture it given the size of the flood was just impossible, so tried this to at least give some idea! The river is quite a long way from this as well!

Brilliant pano Barry! I’m so sorry for all the flooded areas, Dubbo missed out this year thank heavens…

  • Thanks heaps Helen, for the fave too much appreciated. Yes, it’s been terrible, and still not over for other towns along the river. Just hope there arent any more this year – wonder how much damage this huge one has done to the levee banks!
