An amateur, but a long love of photography. A recent move to digital has seen the love ‘blossom’, and a greater enjoyment in the field. I will try most forms of photography, and gain both knowledge and fun out of the experimentation. Using a Nikon D300 and D7000, with a range of lenses, and filters. I hope you enjoy the views as much as I’ve enjoyed taking them.

John and I had a competition to spot emus while we were away I spotted the first two then he got two then he spotted Eight mind you I was driving so slightly disadvantaged. We swapped drivers and then I saw about six in the middle of a field he put his foot down and said unconfirmed siteing……..Not Fair!

Great close up they are unusual creatures and man can they run fast

  • We get a lot of them around here, so plenty of sightings, getting close at times is a bit difficult though, but these were up against some trees so a better background. Mm, I agree with John – if he couldn’t count them it wasn’t ‘confirmed’! lol

Great shot! Especially for a wild one! I was photographing some in a wildlife park when one snuck up on me and while I had my face up to the viewfinder – pecked the button on the front of my T-shirt! Yep – they all heard me scream! Freaky things emus…! :-))

  • Yes, we’ve got a few captive ones in the local park and they get very cranky!
